Just played my best game so far..7(+2) to 4..yeah. Liking the Rail Rifle right now :) got a good, high spot, good team..won, of course. I play Ambush mostly as Domination is just "proto tank stomp". Which is fine, make an investment immortal and I'll run like a girl :p (no misogyny intended, just matter of words)
So..I turned off voice mostly because of the stereotypical 8 year olds complaining about all the noobs, doing my mother(she'd kill ya, fyi), and people thinking they beatbox like a rapper..those kids need to go back to school..but, should I even be looking for a squad? I HATE voice..everyone is annoying. I enjoy scanning on my logi suit, in addition to repping, so I'd be a decent support..but my headset is a USB headset that might only work on PC. I can't plug it into the controller..
So, no voice, hate listening to annoying people, but I play a support "role". Should I even bother? Do people even want those who can't talk, so long as they listen?
I hate losing. I'm doing much better than my previous topic months ago, at least. Much better. Got Minmatar Logistic, kinda liking the repairing and nano hives..enjoying the scanner most of all, but if it's a logi role item I won't train for the suit. Logi/=/combat, imho. At least Minmatar seems..limited in "combat logi". |

OS? what you mean by OS?
And, how do I even find a squad? Does Dust have an "LFG" system? |

And, how do I even find a squad? Does Dust have an "LFG" system? orbital support. Basically, when your squad gets 5000 war points the squad leader gets to call in a big explosion that kills people. You can find a squad using the squad finder ( its right under the battle finder) or you can type lfs in a chat channel. Some good chat channels are DevHangout, Heavy/Logi Funzone, The learning coallition. If someone types rf2 it means they have room for two people in their squad. Type x and you will get an invite.
Warbarges cost 5k WP? Wow.
And, thanks. My PS3 locked up during a game, was doing good..AV grenades are nice choice for a frame lacking "Real" AV..I found out..
And, I suppose I know it as "OMS". Off map support..which might mean capsuleer bombardments, not NPC fired attacks
I'll try it out tomorrow. So long as I get more WP and therefore more SP, I'm content. SP is my biggest issue; I'm squeaking by on low level stuff, playing my role as best I can..but always lacking something. |

hold that wrote:yeah man always squad up, shared scans are one of the top reasons. people who DEMAND voice chat are usually really scrubby, ignore them, or let them boot you.
Alright. Hey, might even make a career out of logi :) Do I get points/assists for scanning and my squadmates getting a kill? All this time, I had been using the scanner solo and THOUGHT my allies could see..doing research, all my cans of "Nope" being opened by me..were only for me, a non-combatant..lol. This is at least a good way of fixing the issue. |

SP is my biggest issue; I'm squeaking by on low level stuff, playing my role as best I can..but always lacking something. if you're trying to get more sp I strongly advise using uplinks or a repair tool. Those two are hands down the easiest way to get sp quick.
As I play Minmatar logi, I DO use the repair tool..that thing is even mroe finicky than the Planetisde 2 repair/healing guns :( I hate it..
And I play..around..200 WP. I do no damage; most people are heavies or cloaky shotgunner that I hate...but, they spent SP in their fields, therefore, I'm not allowed to complain. |

hfderrtgvcd wrote: what do you mean by finicky? Also, if as a min logi your only getting 200 wp a game you're doing something wrong. Try getting a better rep tool and stick with your team more. Join Heavy/Logi funzone, you can find a lot of very good heavies to squad up with there.
Due to tight SP, I use the basic Repair Tool. First non-militia one.."Standard" I think they're considered? No adjective on it.
i try to repair, I do, but the trigger on the controller kinda sucks for the repair tool. I can hold it down hard and it won't do anything. If you let up from healing a target, you MUST wait a bit before you can actually activate it again..sometimes it goes to someone next to your target, whether or not they are moving..it's actually not me for once D: it's the repair tool..
and, heavies? I have maybe ONE every other game on my team..but enemy spams them. |

Blueprint For Murder wrote:You don't have to do damage if you play min logi you have 4 equipment slots that are wp cash cows lol. First grab some mil dropships and some decent uplinks and start the match with those placing uplink in the normal places. Then go in for support using your rep tool and hives to hold the point I would also advise some remote explosives for that last slot allowing you to hold a door should your heavy drop or kill guys hacking the point after a wipe allowing your team more time to return.
uplinks x 2 500 wp rep tool 200 wp hives 100 wp Remotes 200 wp Total 1k wp These numbers are conservative well placed uplinks and remotes will make for a much higher score.
Standard Min logic has 3 slots, 1 L weapon slot, 2 highs, 2 lows. I think that many lows.
As for the rep tool range, possible. I was maybe 5 meters away though. Could have been just tricky.
Uplinks..good idea. As for remote explosives, I die when I get range, and most threats kill me instantly, before I can react
Now, for fitting questions..pure tank? Shield extenders and armor plates, or what? I don't like dying, but using "Basic" tank stuff..33 hp per shield extender...lol. Also, I enjoy using the Mass Driver to cover places. Deters scouts, reveals myself to heavies. Fair exchange I suppose.
I'll try this stuff out tomorrow. Those uplinks I seriously didn't consider. As for nanites..I know this is a cop-out, but my teammates die in the WORST possible locations. THE WORST! They're in the middle of about five guys' targeting range...I aint dying to revive someone to see him die again; that's one kill up to THREE lol. Hopefully that makes sense..but yes I can use standard nanite injectors. I enjoy it, too, bringing people back from the dead, swaying a number here or there, to our side...that' probably the most helpful thing I do/did to help the team win, is make sure our clone count stays level..or try to.
I like the advice :) I'm glad I asked, rather than sitting around doing nothing..but man I hate cloaky shotgunners...cloaky knives? I get it. Got myself a standard pair; you gotta charge the things up, so it's legit if I die to them. Proto scout with proto shotgun? Please..that's overkill..and cloaky bombers..haha..needed a good laugh about today. |

Blueprint For Murder wrote: I would also suggest restricting your match type to domination so you can have some consistency with logi play style. I added this wanted to make sure you caught it.
Domination..alright. Why is that more reliable? I suppose because of my low WP attainment, I considered Ambush(Deathmatch) better, because it was seemingly faster..
But, ok, if that will help..
Uplinks in a dropship, which I don't have, nano hives and repair tools for ammo/armor, explosives for chokepoint, nanite injectors for reviving the unfortunate bullet sponges..
I might make several builds, depending on the tide of the battle. But, RE's are nice for points, too.
Is Domination the single NULL cannon? If so..hehe..
Also, are Minmatar logi the "most" equipment slots? Seems equipment are their specialty, and weapon is almost irrelevant..almost. OR rather, the weapon is up to personal preference, with role being decided on a dedicated repairer..which is nice.
I will keep getting better at this game. THe people in the first topic I made were right: I was playing it wrong..all wrong. Now, I'e stopped dying so much, at least. I'm down to at max 5 deaths with kills/assist. Use to be 10+ with no k/a's..hehe.. |

Operative 1125 Lokaas wrote: Headset is USB? Plug into controller? Wuh? Plug the headset into the front of PS3.
I was instructed that's at least, how the Xbox headsets work. My PS3 sits about 10-ish feet away, and my cable is..four feet. Cannot do meters D: sorry. As for an extension, our cats like run around. They'd simply unplug it, or we'd trip over it. Even then, doubt a PC headset would work on ps3. might try, someday..
Also, ok. 150 clones to one point, rather than randomly on a map. Good advice. |

Blueprint For Murder wrote:you can get a bluetooth headset on amazon for 5$ for 10$ from wallmart if they carry the right ones.
Bluetooth? Most Bluetooth headsets are like $70+ where I live. Five bucks maybe gets the bluetooth dongle on one end :p I do need to replace the PC headset, so, I'll take your advice. Usage on both PC and PS3? Smart. |

Blueprint For Murder wrote:I have had no issues with what I have got it from walmart for 10$ its wireless bluetooth so it doesn't take up a slot on the ps3 I would imagine ill sit on it well before it dies lol.
When I go to WalMart next, I'll look for one. But it's gotta be a PS3 bluetooth, so it probably won't work on PC.
THat's fine. PC headsets are also around 20. So still better than 70+ for a combo thing. Sadly my current headset require drivers to operate, so most likely won't work on ps3.
Thanks folks. Gonna sleep and try stuff tomorrow. |
